I believe that there are always lessons from our experiences if we allow ourselves to be open to them. For me, the isolation period that COVID-19 presented had many, many lessons. Initially, I felt anxious when my structured routine (which included my own self-care) disappeared - literally overnight - and I worried that my business wouldn’t survive the uncertainty of the days, weeks and months to come. Then the lessons showed up… I learned that remaining present is key because the future can’t be known, there is freedom in surrendering and so much to be gained from slowing down (which I intend to hold on to).

At a challenging time amid the Coronavirus when emotions such as anxiety, fear and stress may be high it’s so important to be mindful that we never know what another person is experiencing themselves or what their private experience (feelings) might be.
Kindness is free and goes a long way. The staff in shops are doing their best and such a terrific job. Thank them and let them know you’re grateful. This simple act just might make their day (especially now). ❤️
Self-care, self-love, nurturing or whichever word you prefer to describe looking after yourself is essential. It’s one of our most simple life skills but when life gets in the way, because it often does, or when we are not feeling our best selves, our own self-care is often the first essential life skill to go to the bottom of the list.⠀What rituals will you set up to self-care?
I often catch myself during the busyness of the day or during moments of sadness reverting back to shallow, short breathing and I’m reminded of my friend’s simple spoken word. Breathe.
There’s nothing wrong with a little chocolate indulgence but lately it’s been a lot! Whizzed this healthy, simple family favourite recipe up today in the Thermomix and even the little hands were caught sneaking a few. Chocolate craving sorted!
